Real-Life Time Traveler?
Michael J. Fox famously launches himself in time in the popular movie Back to the Future. But was there a real-life Hollywood time traveler more than 80 years ago?
The scene? Grauman's Chinese Theater in Los Angeles. The year? 1928. There's excitement in the air as people anxiously await the premiere of a Charlie Chaplin film. Something very strange happened right in front of Grauman's Chinese Theater. Something that just doesn't add up.
The film was called The Circus. Exotic animals were brought in for the premiere.
In film taken during the premiere, there is a woman in black walking behind a zebra. She's holding something to her ear, and it seems as if she's speaking into it. Could that be a cell phone she's speaking into? A cell phone in 1928?
The very first hand-held cell phone wasn't even invented until 1973, so what's going on here?
Irish film producer George Clark is the eagle-eyed man who spotted the 82-year-old mystery. His discovery is a YouTube sensation, with more than 800,000 hits and counting! Clark's theory?
"It's a time traveler," said Clark.
There may never be an answer to the mystery of the lady in black, and the tiny device she's speaking into, but it sure makes you wonder.
