Michael Phelps Strips Down, Flashes Gold Medals to Distract Basketball Player

The Olympian took part in Arizona State University's 'Curtain of Distraction.'

Olympic hero Michael Phelps seemed to help distract a college basketball player trying to sink free throws during a game between Arizona State University and Oregon State.

He eventually stripped down to just a Speedo and his gold medals hanging around his neck during Arizona State University's famous “Curtain Of Distraction.”

The distraction appeared to work as Oregon State’s Stephen Thompson Jr. missed both of his shots.

Phelps posted his experience on social media and seemed elated to help.

Phelps is training at ASU for the 2016 Olympics in Rio.

Arizona State is known for its “Curtain Of Distraction” to addle players shooting free throws. There's even a Coke Zero commercial featuring the shenanigans.

When the curtain opens you just might find any and everything behind it. In the past there has been a Miley Cyrus impersonator who parodied her “Wrecking Ball” video. Other stunts have been men playing the guitar, guys doing squats and even a kayaker pretending to ride through the crowd.
