EXCLUSIVE: See the Moment Broncos Player Was Cuffed For Prostitution Sting Questioning

Practice squad safety Ryan Murphy will not be in California for the year's Super Bowl.

A Denver Broncos player was sent home ahead of Super Bowl 50 after police say he was detained for questioning in connection with a California prostitution sting.

Rookie practice team safety Ryan Murphy, 23, was questioned and subsequently released Tuesday in Santa Clara County, just days before his team was scheduled to battle the Carolina Panthers for the 2015 NFL championship title.

INSIDE EDITION’s Lisa Guerrero had exclusive access to the Santa Clara County Sheriff’s Office when this happened, and INSIDE EDITION will feature exclusive footage in today’s broadcast.

INSIDE EDITION joined the Sheriff’s Super Bowl Human Trafficking Task Force in the sting, called "Operation Charlie Brown."

The Task Force answered an online ad and made a date with an 18-year-old woman. According to the police, two men dropped off the woman at a motel and the Task Force descended on the car.

The two men in the car turned out to be Murphy and his friend -- Murphy in the passenger seat while his friend was driving. The two were handcuffed and the car was searched.

Sgt. James Jensen said the Santa Clara County Sheriff's Office determined Murphy was involved in no criminal activity.

Broncos coach Gary Kubiak sent him back to Denver, nonetheless.

"Although practice squad safety Ryan Murphy was not cited by police, we decided it was best for the team if we continued our preparations without him," Kubiak said in a release.

Kubiak did not reveal any further actions that might be taken against Murphy.

"His status as a practice squad player has no changed at this time," Kubiak said.

The Broncos are currently staying in Santa Clara, California while they prepare for Super Bowl 50 on Sunday.

The county's human trafficking task force had been conducting several prostitution stings in the area in recent days and said 10 men have been city for solicitation.

The task force has also connected 20 suspected prostitutes with area support resources.
