Behind-the-Scenes Video Shows Homeland Security Prepped for Super Bowl Crisis, Hostage Situation

Officials are declaring the Super Bowl as a Level 1 national security event.

The Super Bowl has been declared a Level 1 national security event and a 32-mile radius around the Bay Area's Levi Stadium is now a no-fly zone.

Homeland Security says there have been no specific terrorist threats Super Bowl 50, but security is high following terror attacks in San Bernardino and Paris, where a suicide bomber blew himself up outside a soccer stadium.

Drones are a new concern at Super Bowl 50 and the FAA has said they will use “deadly force” on the devices flying within the restricted area.

Authorities will have F-15 fighter jets on standby ready to scramble should any unauthorized aircraft enter that no fly zone.

On the ground, heavily armed police are patrolling area, aided by 60 federal and state agencies.
