Hugh Jackman Rescues His Children, Other Swimmers From Strong Riptide
Actor Hugh Jackman, who is used to playing superheroes on screen, transformed into one in real life.
Jackman leapt to the rescue when his 15-year-old son, Oscar, his 10-year-old daughter, Ava, and other beachgoers got caught in a riptide at Bondi Beach in Australia on Saturday.
He was photographed bringing swimmers to safety.
The Wolverine star’s rep said in a statement: "Hugh and Oscar are completely fine. It looks more dramatic than it was."
The North Bondi Beach Patrol posted a big thank you to Jackman on Instagram.
WELL DONE to Patrol 13 captained by Rosie Taliano & Tom Bunting this afternoon who completed 43 rescues in total with only a limited 12 patrolling members rostered on. There were also 3 rescues in the morning completed by Patrol 10. A big THANK YOU to Waverley Duty Officers, @brontesurfclub, @bondisblsc, @bondilifeguards and @surfrescue30 for your extra assistance. The beach had to be closed due to dangerous conditions, multiple rescues happening all at once and limited resources. @thehughjackman was also spotted assisting with rescues!
