A male employee of Apple was found dead in a conference room of the company's headquarters in Cupertino, California, according to authorities.

An emergency call from the sprawling facility Wednesday reported a man bleeding from a head wound, The San Jose Mercury News reported. Minutes later, dispatchers said a body and a gun had been found in a meeting room.

At an afternoon press conference, Sgt. Andrea Urena of the Santa Clara County Sheriff's Office said the death was an "isolated incident" that posed no danger to the public.

Few details were released. Urena said deputies "found one individual male down ant that he was deceased. Through further investigation they determined that there were no other individuals involved and they believe it was an isolated incident, and that there's nobody else on the campus or in the public that is at risk."

She would not comment on whether a gun was found or if the death was a suicide.

The county coroner will conduct an autopsy, she said. 

The company had no comment Wednesday.

On Monday, the company posted its first decline in quarterly revenue in 13 years. Since then, the firm's market capitalization has dropped by about $40 billion, according to industry figures.
