New dad Ben Aylesworth turned to RetailMeNot shopping expert Sara Skirboll for help picking out a gift on behalf of his baby son. As they headed to the shops at Brookfield Place in New York City, he asked her how much he should spend.
"I'm not going to tell you how much to spend," Skirboll told him. "But what I can tell you is that the average person spends about $65 on a gift."
She recommended he visit RetailMeNot.com, which lists great ideas and deals for Mother's Day gifts, or download the website’s app to find deals as he's out and about.
"The free app is actually really easy to use," she said. "It uses GPS technology to alert you of deals anywhere you are."
As they walked around the mall, the app alerted them to 40 percent off items at Tory Burch and deals at Michael Kors.
