Kate Middleton's simple-yet-stylish clothes in the just-released official portraits are from her own wardrobe.
In the more formal picture, Kate is wearing a white belted dress with three-quarter sleeves by the designer Reiss. It's called the "Nannette," and it cost $250.
At the Reiss store in New York, the dress Kate is wearing in the photo has been out of stock for a year. But there's been so much demand since the engagement pictures came out that Reiss is planning to re-release the dress in 2011.
Kate's white topaz earrings are by the jeweler Links of London, priced at $430.
Prince William's suit is by the high-end London tailor Turnbull & Asser.
In the more informal portrait, Kate is wearing an embroidered cream blouse by an English chain called Whistles. It cost $150.
In both photos, the engagement ring once worn by William's mother Diana is featured prominently.
The pictures were taken by fashion photographer Mario Testino. He was Diana's favorite and took many glamorous photos of the princess.
But the choice of Diana's photographer, combined with William giving Kate his mother's engagement ring, is raising some eyebrows.
London Daily Mail columnist Liz Jones called the double echo of Diana "downright creepy."
