Nixon joined New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio's wife, Chirlane McCray, and others Wednesday night reading the letter live on the mayor's Facebook page.

The victim has spoken out via her lawyer to Stanford’s Fox affiliate KTVU, saying, “I remain anonymous, yes to protect my identity. But it is also a statement, that all of these people are fighting for someone they don't know. That's the beauty of it.
