Cop Thanks Good Samaritan for Roadside Rescue
It's a moment of heroism that won America's heart. A woman rushes to the aid of a cop locked in a life and death struggle with a suspect.
Dayton, Ohio cop Jonathan Seiter and the woman he calls his guardian angel, Angela Pierce, were reunited Thursday.
Pierce said, "I didn't think about it. I didnt stop to think. I just started helping you."
"And I do appreciate that, and the good lord put you there for a reason," said officer Seiter.
The dramatic moments were caught on dashcam video.
The suspect gains the upper hand, pins officer Seiter down, and is reaching for the cop's gun. Then Angela Pierce arrives just in time.
Seiter believes Pierce is an angel, sent to help him by his deceased parents.
INSIDE EDITION's Les Trent asked, "What do you think may have happened if she had not intervened?"
"I probably wouldn't be here talking to you today. She gave me the chance to break free from him and I finished taking care of business," said officer Seiter.
The suspect, 64-year-old Otto Coleman, has a violent criminal record. He has been charged with assault and resisting arrest.
