Heart Attack Grill Serves Up Bypass Burgers
A 470-pound man is greedily devouring a burger that packs a whopping 8,000 calories!
He's eating what amounts to a heart attack on a plate in one of the most controversial restaurants in America. It's the Heart Attack Grill in Chandler, Arizona. That's right, the Heart Attack Grill.
On the menu is the Quadruple and Triple Bypass Burgers stacked with multiple patties, Butterfat milk shakes, and Flatliner Fries cooked in mounds of pure lard. That's right—lard.
But with more than 1,000 Americans dying every day from heart attacks, the Heart Attack Grill is causing a firestorm.
Dr. Suzanne Steinbaum, Cardiologist said, "Unless we show people that there are healthy alternatives to high-fat foods, they don't believe that there's anything they can do and they'll just indulge in a way that is really suicidal."
Blaine River appears in TV ads for the Heart Attack Grill.
"I think it's great! This is good stuff! Everyone should be modern size like myself," said River.
Big Ernie is a regular customer, but he underwent cardiac surgery and was in a coma for three months. He even showed us his scar. But he's still eating Quadruple Bypass burgers.
"It's probably one of the unhealthiest burgers you'll ever eat. But it's got all the flavor," said Ernie.
Owner Jon Bosso proudly promotes his food as unhealthy and politically incorrect, and even wears a doctor's coat.
"What people really want in the world is good tasting, fun food. They're not interested in health food," said Bosso.
The waitresses wear sexy nurse outfits. And the customers are even offered hospital gowns.
"I make people who struggle with their weight feel at home," said Bosso.
But critics say the whole idea behind the Heart Attack Grill is hard to swallow.
Dr. Steinbaum said, "All of these things lead to heart disease, and you will end up in a cardiologists office at some point."
