Some Sanders Supporters Feeling Slighted as He Delivers Booming Endorsement of Hillary Clinton

Whether all of his supporters like it or not,  Bernie Sanders appeared on stage with Hillary Clinton Tuesday, where Sanders officially and loudly endorsed the former Secretary of State for the Democratic presidential nomination.

"When the roll call at Democratic National Convention i announced, it will show that we won almost 1900 delegates," Sanders told a raucous crowd in Portsmouth, New Hampshire. "But it is not enough to win the nomination."

"Secretary Clinton has won the Democratic nominating process and I congratulate her for that. She will be the Democratic nominee for president and I intend to do everything I can to make certain she will be the next president of the United States."

After taking the opportunity to bash their shared enemy, Donald Trump, Sanders rattled off a list of causes he wants his supporters to know he shares with Hillary Clinton.

"I have come here to make it as clear as possible as to why I am endorsing Hillary Clinton and why she must become our next president," Sanders said.

Those reasons include a need for a "dramatic expansion" of community health centers throughout the country, a public option to increase competition in insurance marketplaces, free tuition at public universities for the middle and lower classes, leveling income inequality, a reduction of carbon emissions and other issues.

Sanders described a "significant coming together between the two camps" as they negotiated the Democratic policy platform in recent weeks.

"We produced by far the most progressive platform in the history of the Democratic party," Sanders boasted.

After thanking the Senator from Vermont for his ringing endorsement, Clinton mirrored his sentiments that the camps have come together on liberal issues including student debt, clean energy and income inequality.

"In my first 100 days as president, we will make the biggest investment in new, good paying jobs since World War II," Clinton said.  "Everywhere where a person deserves the same shot at the American dream as anybody else in our country."

True to form, Donald Trump was quick to comment on Tuesday's rally.

"Bernie Sanders, who has lost most of his leverage, has totally sold out to Crooked Hillary Clinton. He will endorse her today - fans angry!" the billionaire presidential candidate tweeted.

Some supporters of Bernie seem to agree with Trump and, like the Republican nominee, have taken to Twitter to express their outrage.

"Stop putting a positive spin on today. Hillary Clinton won this nom running against the left. Bernie Sanders surrendered, period," wrote @Frankierios.

Screenwrite Craig Mazin wrote: "Bernie is the latest politician to not be Bernie enough."

"Bernie Sanders endorsing Hillary Clinton feels kinda like Bob Dylan singing backup for Maroon 5" joked Matt Oswalt.
