Critics Call Out Bradley Cooper for Being in DNC Audience After Portraying 'American Sniper' Chris Kyle

The actor found himself in a social media firestorm, just for being in the audience.

Bradley Cooper found himself in a social media firestorm simply for sitting in the audience at the DNC on Wednesday.

Some viewers were apparently upset that the actor, who famously portrayed sharpshooter Chris Kyle in American Sniper — a known Republican before his death in 2013 — would attend the Democratic National Convention.

"I'm appalled, and extremely disappointed," tweeted one viewer.

"He's dead to me now," said another.

Cooper, a Democrat, attended the convention in his hometown of Philadelphia with his Russian model girlfriend Irina Shayk.

In the face of the backlash, other fans came to his defense.
