The cat, which was nicknamed Charlie, drew the attention of the crew on Friday as they were returning to port.

One of the members saw the cat floating in the water and jumped in to save him. Once Charlie was brought on board, they began giving him mouth-to-mouth to revive the kitten.

An officer began administering CPR, even giving the kitten small chest compressions. At one point, they turned the cat upside down and pushed the water out of its body and through its nose and mouth.
