NBC Stands by Jimmy Fallon Amid Report of Allegations of 'Out of Control' Drinking

'There were fears that Fallon was out of control and something could happen while he's out drinking,' the source said.

"Jimmy is one of NBC’s biggest assets and any suggestion that we have concerns about his behavior or have given him any kind of 'warning' is completely false,” Bob Greenblatt, NBC Entertainment Chairman said in a statement.

The declaration was issued after the New York Post reported that Fallon has been warned by network execs to curtail his drinking.

The Post quoted a source as saying: "There were fears that Fallon was out of control and something could happen while he’s out drinking. Things got so serious at one stage that execs feared that Jimmy was splitting up with his wife over his drinking, but they patched things up.”

Fallon frequently plays drinking games with guests on The Tonight Show but mishaps off-screen allegedly have executives at the network worried.

In June 2015, he tripped at home and nearly severed his ring finger and months later, he chipped his tooth. A year ago, he tripped over someone at a party and cut his hand open on a bottle.
