Dad Speaks Out About Mattress Belly Flop

INSIDE EDITION talks to the dad who has come under scrutiny for posting a video of him bouncing his daughter off of an air mattress.

It was the controversial belly flop bounce seen around the world.

More than 400,000 people have watched the video of Joe Carr launching his daughter into the air, and not everybody thinks it's funny!

INSIDE EDITION sat down with Joe and his 3-year-old daughter Alison of Northville, Michigan, outside Detroit.

Alison and her little cousins were jumping on an air mattress when Joe decided to join in. He jumped on the mattress and a doll on the bed jumped up. The doll didn't go very high up, but Alison did.

Luckily, Alison landed safely on the bed and wasn't hurt. But the internet teemed with critical comments about Joe's stunt, such as:

"That dad is an idiot."

"That could have gone wrong in so many ways."

"That's a great way to break her neck, good parenting."

Joe's wife Margot videotaped the stunt. She tells INSIDE EDITION, "I did tell my husband to try to be more careful next time. Hopefully, there won't be a next time!"

And there won't be.

"It was dangerous, but it worked out okay. I would never do it again, but it worked out in the end to be very funny," says Joe.
