Deployed Soldiers Watch Super Bowl With Their Families Thanks to 360-Degree Projection Screens

Watching the big game with your nearest and dearest is a time-honored tradition — just ask these soldiers, who were featured in an ad enjoying the Super Bowl with their families, despite being deployed thousands of miles away.

Members of the U.S. military stationed in Zagan, Poland, were reunited with their family in Houston just in time for the big game, thanks to satellite technology and a little Super Bowl magic.

During a screening of the game on the military base, Sergeant Richard Morrill, Sergeant Erik Guerrero and Corporal Trista Stauch were quietly escorted to private pods, equipped with 360-degree projection screens.

Suddenly, as the screens turned on transporting the soldiers into NRG Stadium, their families appeared in the stands beside them, too.

The ad for Hyundai, which was directed by Peter Berg of Friday Night Lights fame, aired after the New England Patriots' dramatic 34-28 win in overtime.

The commercial was shot and edited during the game, and the car company hinted at the big reveal on their Twitter account throughout the day.
