Teacher Arrested After He's Caught on Surveillance Video Kissing Student: Cops

Brian Kornbluth allegedly kissed at least one student on the lips, cops say.

A Florida teacher was arrested this week after cops say classroom surveillance footage showed him kissing a young student.

Authorities began investigating Brian Kornbluth, 28, after Boca Raton police were called to Somerset Academy by the school principal last week.

According to police, the principal explained that a teacher told him Kornbluth had requested certain students be moved so they could attend his class.

Since all classrooms have video surveillance, the principal immediately had the camera in Kornbluth's classroom repositioned so it faced the teacher's desk.

The video taken Feb. 9 allegedly showed a student with Kornbluth in his empty classroom before he briefly kissed the student on the lips.

"After viewing the video, the officer notified Boca Raton Police Detectives, who continued the investigation," Boca Raton PD said in a statement. The girl police identified in the video was interviewed, as was her sister.

According to police, the student's sister said Kornbluth also kissed her one time while she was at the school the previous year.

When questioned, police say Kornbluth admitted to kissing the girl in the video but denied having kissed her sister.

Kornbluth was arrested and charged with simple battery, a misdemeanor. He is scheduled to be arraigned March 23.
