It's Donald Trump vs. Whoopi Goldberg, round two.
Donald Trump is speaking out about his heated exchange with Whoopi Goldberg over whether President Obama was really born in the United States.
As a guest on The View last week, Trump said, "I want him to show his birth certificate. There's something on that birth certificate that he doesn't like."
Barbara Walters responded by saying, "Oh that's a terrible thing to say."
Whoopi Goldberg exclaimed, "I think that's the biggest pile of dog mess I've ever heard in ages."
INSIDE EDITION's Diane McInerney caught up with Trump who said, "Whoopi brought it up. It became a big subject and what I'm asking for is, I want to see a birth certificate. If you're going to be, or are, the President of the United States, you have to have a birth certificate."
Trump is firing back at Goldberg's suggestion that his support for the birther movement has to do with Obama's race.
On The View, Goldberg said, "It's not because he's black, is it?"
Trump said, "That has nothing to do with that."
"Because I have never heard of a white President being asked to show his birth certificate," said Goldberg.
McInerney asked, "What went through your mind when Whoopi said, 'Is it because he's black?' "
"Well first of all, I really like Whoopi, but I was shocked when she tried to bring the race card in. It has nothing to do with race and I think she knows that," said Trump.
McInerney showed Trump a copy of Obama's birth certificate released by the White House, clearly showing that the President was born in Hawaii in 1961, but he didn't back down.
"This is not a birth certificate, and this is a problem. This is what they're trying to use, but if you look, there's nobody signing it. There's no verification. It was issued a long time later," said Trump.
Meantime, the real estate tycoon turned reality TV star is also weighing in on another feud—the war of words between Gary Busey and Meat Loaf on next week's Celebrity Apprentice.
Trump said, "Well Meat Loaf and Gary Busey go at it like I've never seen on television. I've never seen anything like it. Meat Loaf goes crazy."
