Playing 'I Sleep Pretty Good at Night': Casey Anthony Breaks Her Silence, Doesn't Know What Happened to Daughter

Casey Anthony, the woman acquitted of murdering her two-year-old daughter in 2011, has spoken out for the first time.

"I don't give a s*** what anybody thinks about me. I don't care about that. I never will. I'm OK with myself. I sleep pretty good at night," she told The Associated Press in the first interview since her acquittal.

The 30-year-old Anthony has a bold and glamorous new look, a far cry from the party-girl who was once dubbed "the most hated woman in America."

It was one of the most controversial verdicts ever. Now, she tells The AP she never knew what happened to little Caylee.

She is currently in South Florida at the home of Patrick McKenna, a private detective who was also the lead investigator on her defense team.

Anthony was asked by AP reporter Josh Replogle: "To your understanding, how did [Caylee] die?"

"I don't know," she replied. "Everyone else has their theories. I don't know. I'm still not even certain as I stand here today about what happened," she said.

Caylee was missing for a month before her grandmother called police and reported a "smell of death" in Casey’s car. The child's body was eventually found in a wooded area, not far from her parents' home.

"I did what I was told," she told Replogle. "I don't remember too much of what happened."

She added: "What I remember is being in bed, my mom coming in before she left for work and saying, goodbye to us and then waking up several hours later and not knowing where she was."

Anthony added that she "absolutely" wishes she knew what happened to her daughter.

In images taken by the AP, her home is decorated with photos of Caylee, a finger painting done by her daughter and a framed ultrasound image of the girl as a fetus.

On Casey Anthony's bookshelf is the complete works of Edgar Allan Poe, the writer of classic horror stories.

She told Replogle that her daughter would be 12 now and "I would like to think she'd be listening to classic rock and playing sports and not taking s*** from anybody."

Replogle spoke to Inside Edition about his bombshell interview.

"She wants the world to know she loves her daughter, loved her daughter, and still does," he said.

Anthony now likes to photograph wildlife in South Florida. But she still likes to party and goes to bars to meet guys. She has had a few short-lived romances.

Her favorite drink is Jack Daniels and Diet Coke, and she likes to be recognized.

According to Replogle, she once met a man at a bar and got his number, decided not to call him back because he didn't know who she was.

Before the interview was conducted, Anthony was seen in February protesting outside the Mar-a-Lago estate of President Trump, shortly after the inauguration.
