Hillary Clinton Ridicules President Trump Over 'Covfefe' Tweet

She hit back after he resurrected his old "Crooked Hillary" moniker.

As a bewildered nation continues its struggle to determine what President Trump meant by his cryptic “covfefe” tweet, Hillary Clinton has jumped in on the joke.

While being interviewed at the Code Conference in Rancho Palos Verdes, Calif., Wednesday, Clinton said she believed the Russians had been "guided" to spread misinformation about her during the race for the White House.

When asked who she believed had guided the Russians, she said, "I’m leaning Trump. I think it’s pretty hard not to.”

Later Wednesday, President Trump responded to her remarks on Twitter.

"Crooked Hillary Clinton now blames everybody but herself, refuses to say she was a terrible candidate," he wrote.

Clinton then hit back with her own tweet. “People in covfefe houses shouldn't throw covfefe," it said.

Her jab came after Trump's bizarre tweet early Wednesday morning.

"Despite the constant negative press covfefe," read the message, which was posted at 12:06 a.m.

The post was deleted several hours later, but not before it sent Twitter into a spin, prompting memes and even T-shirts.

“Make America Covfefe Again," one T-shirt read.

When asked about the meaning of the tweet at the White House press briefing Wednesday afternoon, press secretary Sean Spicer told reporters, "The president and a small group of people know exactly what he meant."

His response was met with laughter from journalists in the room.
