Girl Sexually Assaulted in a Dumpster While Playing Outside Mormon Church: Cops

Cops now need help bringing the suspect to justice.

Parishioners of a California church are in shock after cops say a girl was sexually assaulted while playing outside.

Cops in Riverside say the girl, who has not been named, was outside the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints when she was pulled into a dumpster by a male assailant.

Cops say the girl was able to get away following the assault, which took place Sunday afternoon.

"The suspect was described as a dark-skinned Hispanic male, approximately 50-years-old, with a goatee and short dark messy hair," the Riverside Police Department said in a statement.

The suspect was last seen wearing a black T-shirt with vertical grey stripes, and possibly had a tattoo on one of his arms.

The victim was later able to assist with developing a composite sketch of the suspect, who was a stranger to her.

The Press-Enterprise reported that the victim was between 10 and 13 years old and that she was alone at the time of the attack.
