Frank Leo Huner was arrested on suspicion of second-degree murder.
A Colorado man shot and killed his adult son after mistaking him for an intruder breaking into his home, the man told police.
Frank Leo Huner, 59, called 911 to report having shot someone he thought was trying to get into his house in Sedalia at about 10:15 p.m. Saturday, the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office said.

While on the phone with a dispatcher, Huner was able to identify the man he believed to be an intruder as his own son.
The victim was positively identified late Monday as 33-year-old Nicholas Huner. The Douglas County Coroner's Office confirmed he had died from a gunshot wound.

The elder Huner was arrested on suspicion of second-degree murder. He was released on $50,000 bond.
The investigation into the shooting is ongoing, the Douglas County Sheriff's Office said in a statement.
