Deputies responded to a 911 call from a family that discovered the children hiding in the park’s bathroom, according to investigators.

The kids had become frightened when it started to rain and hid inside the restroom, deputies said. About 20 minutes later, Lara arrived to pick up her children. Instead, she was arrested.

The children had been left unsupervised for about an hour, officials said.
