Woman Says Her Super Long Eyelashes Are a Sign of Her Good Health
This woman only had to bat her eyelashes to get into the Guinness Book of World Records.
At 4.88 inches long, You Jianxia of Shanghai, China, has the world’s longest eyelashes, which come down to her chin.
“They are a part of my body, so I never find them inconvenient,” You said in an interview with Guinness World Records.
She said her eyelashes began growing four years ago during an 18-month nature retreat.
Since then, she credits living in harmony with nature for the extraordinary length of her lashes, and views them as a sign of her health and well-being.
Her daily care routine involves cleaning them gently when she washes her face.
She beat out the last record holder, a Canadian woman with 3.17-inch-long eyelashes, in June 2016.
Her eyelashes were laid flat on a ruler for the official judging and measured three times in front of individual witnesses, according to the Guinness World Records.
