Twister Hits the Ballpark

A college world series game turned to chaos as fans scrambled to take cover when tornado sirens blared and ominous clouds rolled in. INSIDE EDITION has the latest.

It was certainly not your typical day at the ballgame. At TD Ameritrade Park in Omaha, one twister turned the stadium into a field of terror.

"We advise you to move to the concourse at this time," announcers said.

The groundskeepers scrambled to cover the field, with thousands of fans and players fleeing for shelter.

And they had good reason to panic: a massive tornado was headed their way.

Dark, ominous clouds rolled in, sending trash swirling into the air. Fortunately for the few fans left behind, the twisters just missed the ball park.

The game, part of a college World Series, resumed today after the storm had passed. But those in attendance will never forget their terrifying tornado scare.
