Joran van der Sloot laughed in court. Pretty amazing, since he just pled guilty to murder.
He made a dramatic confession in Peru to killing 21-year-old Stephany Flores five years to the day after Natalie Holloway went missing in Aruba.
Speaking in Spanish before a worldwide TV audience, van der Sloot said he was sorry for killing the young woman in his Lima hotel room.
"I feel very bad," van der Sloot said in Spanish.
But he acted like he didn't have a care in the world. He smirked, twiddled his thumbs, cracked his neck, and even closed his eyes as if to take a nap.
Jane Velez Mitchell told INSIDE EDITION, "He was a bad actor. It was as if he was trying to supress a smile while he's giving his sincere confession. This was a total joke."
He wore a blue shirt with his shoelaces removed as a precaution so he won't hang himself.
He nodded to cameramen behind bullet-proof glass in the stifling courtroom because there's no air conditioning and it's summertime in Peru.
A crucifix stood on the Judge's bench since there's no separation of church and state. Now the judges will decide his sentence, which could be up to 30 years in prison.
And still, he laughed.
