Elin Nordergren Donates Fixtures From Demolished Mansion

We're now learning why Tiger Woods' ex-wife demolished her lavish $12 million oceanfront mansion. It turns out the oceanfront Palm Beach home wasn't hurricane proof and it was infested with termites.

Elin Nordegren's Palm Beach home was built in the 1920's and "wasn't built to the South Florida wind-loading codes of today," Nordegren's engineer told People magazine. "It made more sense, structurally and economically, to tear it down and start over."

When the house was being demolished, workers discovered an infestation of termites and carpenter ants.

Nordegren has generously donated tens of thousands of dollars in cabinets, appliances, and fixtures to Habitat For Humanity.

There were wine coolers that retail for around $2,000 dollars each and sold for $600 a piece.

Nordegran also donated 82 feet of solid wood kitchen cabniets and a crystal chandelier.
