New Information Leaked In Trayvon Martin Case
There's fury today over the leak of a police report revealing Trayvon Martin was suspended from school three times.
According to The Miami Herald, the latest suspension took place just last month when Trayvon was found with a baggie with traces of marijuana and a marijuana pipe. He was suspended for ten days.
And last October, Trayvon reportedly drew graffiti on a locker and had a screwdriver described as a burglary tool and women's jewelry in a backpack.
The third suspension was reportedly for truancy.
Family members say the leak is a blatant attempt to tarnish Trayvon's name. His father addressed a city commissioners meeting last night in Sanford, Florida.
"It tears me apart to sit here and listen to the slander that they are giving to my son," said Trayvon's father.
Meanwhile, a new witness claims he saw Trayvon on top of George Zimmerman as Zimmerman cried for help.
Fox 35 News reporter Shannon said, "This guy told us that he actually saw what he said was Trayvon Martin on top of George Zimmerman beating him, and that's when he called 911. He said Zimmmerman was actually saying to him, 'Please help me. Please help me.' "
The crescendo of rage over the shooting seems to grow louder each day. As tens of thousands of protestors across America wear hoodies to show support for Trayvon, President Obama's re-election campaign tweeted a photo offering 2012 Obama campaign hoodies on sale for $40.
Sources in the campaign say the timing was just a coincidence and not intended to make any link to Trayvon Martin.
And a new poll says 73% of Americans say George Zimmerman should be arrested. 11% disagree and 16% don't know. (Source: CNN)
George Zimmerman's attorney walked out of an MSNBC studio in Orlando moments before a scheduled interview with host Lawrence O'Donnell. O'Donnell continued to pose questions to the empty chair.
O'Donnell said, "The terrified, now cowardly lawyer representing George Zimmrman has left that chair empty, run out of our studio, refused to come on this show just minutes ago."
O'Donnell asked the empty chair, "You said Zimmerman was injured, a broken nose. Do you have photographs of your client's broken nose?"
Singer Chaka Khan appeared on Piers Morgan to play a new music video she produced about the Trayvon Martin shooting. It's called "Fear Kills, Love Heals."
"My birthday was a couple of days ago and it hit me that here I am celebrating another year of life and here this child is dead," Kahn said.
And Oprah expressed her outrage on the Steve Harvey radio show:
"I am infuriated. I mean just last night I was just thinking what a shame. Not just a tragedy, but a tragedy for him and his family, Trayvon, but a shame and a tragedy for a justice system in a country called America in 2012," said Winfrey.
