14-Year-Old Wins Scripps National Spelling Bee

A 14-year-old girl, who had family fly in from India won the 2012 Scripps National Spelling Bee. INSIDE EDITION has the details.

Confetti flew as a 14-year-old girl won the 2012 Scripps National Spelling Bee.

Snigdha Nandipati from San Diego correctly spelled out "guetapens," which means an ambush or trap, to take $40,000 in cash and prizes.

Her elderly grandfather, who celebrated with her, traveled all the way from his home in India to see her compete.

Nandipati was asked, "Now that you know this is actually happening, how do you feel?"

"It's a miracle," she said.
