Today Show Skips 9/11 Moment of Silence to Air Kardashian Interview
It was a moment of silence at 8:46 a.m. to mark the 11th anniversary of that terrible morning when the attack on America began.
At that precise moment, guess what was airing on the Today show? Kris Jenner talking about her breast implants and the new season of Keeping up with the Kardashians.
The embarrassing decision is now under fire.
"NBC News skips 9/11 Moment of Silence on 'Today'," said The Huffington Post.
ABC, CBS, FOX and the cable news networks all carried the 9/11 moment of silence, live.
The emotional ceremonies were held at the site of the World Trade Center, the Pentagon, and near Shanksville, Pennsylvania, where United flight 93 crashed. At Ground Zero, the names of the victims were read by their grieving families.
INSIDE EDITION watched the memorial from One World Trade center right next to Ground Zero. After going through tight security INSIDE EDITION rode a construction elevator up to the 23rd floor. At One World Trade Center, construction had been suspended for the day.
The memorial was marked by moving musical performances, including one by a youth choir. Three NYPD buglers ended the emotional ceremony by playing "Taps."
Even after 11 years, that tragic day seems like it just happened.
