FBI Agent Admits to Sending Shirtless Photo

Airdate: 11/15/2012

We now know the identity of "Agent Shirtless,” the FBI agent at the center of the David Petraeus sex scandal.

His name is Frederick Humphries and he confirms he sent a shirtless photo of himself to Jill Kelley, but says the photo was meant as a "joke."

“It was sort of a joke, and actually wasn't quite as bad as it sounds,” said Ron Kessler.

Kessler is author of The Secrets of the FBI and Chief Washington Correspondent of Newsmax. He says the 47-year-old Humphries was friends with Kelley, and that's why she asked him to investigate threatening e-mails she was receiving from Petraeus's mistress, Paula Broadwell.

“Kelley was very big on the social scene in Tampa, and liked to cultivate powerful figures and an FBI agent would fit right in,” said Kessler.

The world has yet to see that now infamous shirtless photo, but the FBI agent says he e-mailed it to dozens of friends, including Kelley, in the fall of 2010.

It reportedly shows him shirtless, standing between a pair of shirtless dummies. Humphries then added the funny caption, "Which one is Fred?"

The photo is apparently nothing like the shirtless photo of disgraced ex-Congressman Anthony Weiner.

Humphries's lawyer says Humphries and his wife had been, "Social friends with Ms. Kelley and her husband." He says the shirtless photo of Humphries was not sexual in nature.

Humphries is described as "hard-charging" and a "bulldog," and CBS national security correspondent John Miller learned this about "Agent Shirtless," “He's kind of well known as a hard charger. What comes with that though, according to people I spoke to, there's a bit of an edge to him."
