A hospital in Pennsylvania is getting so overwhelmed with flu patients, they are pitching tents to separate them from the rest of hospital. INSIDE EDITION got a tour of the isolated area.
A hospital tent put up to isolate and treat flu patients displays how bad this flu season is getting.
It looks like something right out of the classic TV show, MASH.
The flu tent is just steps from the emergency room at Lehigh Valley Hospital in Allentown, Pennsylvania.
INSIDE EDITION got a tour of the flu tent from Terry Burger, the hospital's director for infection control.
Burger said, “This is really where we can house patients. We have six bays, all of our supplies, the tent is fully heated.”
So how bad is the flu epidemic?
A nurse just found out she has it. Cheryl Palm started feeling sick, so she immediately checked into the flu tent.
Palm said, “I think it's a great idea, it's keeping the people that are healthy away from the flu patients.”
