While rogue ex-cop Christopher Dorner made his final stand his mother was reportedly captured on surveillance video at a Mexican restaurant and watching live TV coverage of her son's shootout with police.
KCAL-TV reporter Michele Gile was staking out the home of Christopher Dorner's mom, Nancy, when she says she spotted a woman matching her description just two blocks away at the Mexican restaurant sipping wine and eating salsa and chips.
Gile said, "She was sitting with a friend at a table. Nancy Dorner was facing the big screen TV watching our live coverage with a glass of wine, her friend had a glass of wine as well, they had chips and salsa at the table and they seemed to be watching this like millions of others were. I also went and asked them, 'Do you know Christopher Dorner?' They were quiet and they both shook their heads 'No.'
Gile says 30 minutes later, the woman believed to be Dorner's mom was photographed entering the same home the TV news crew was staking out.
Gile said, "That was the point I realized that same woman that I just saw at the bar, with a glass of wine and a friend, was Nancy Dorner."
Nancy Dorner is breaking her silence, releasing this statement, "It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that we express our deepest sympathies and condolences to anyone that suffered losses or injuries resulting from Christopher's actions. We do not condone Christopher's actions."
