Yahoo Purchases Tumblr For Over A Billion Dollars

The 26-year-old creator of Tumblr just became a billionaire and he doesn't even have a high school diploma, after Yahoo!, purchased the popular blogging site. INSIDE EDITION has the story.

Everybody's asking who won that $590.5 million Powerball jackpot? The winning ticket was purchased at a Publix supermarket in Zephyrhills, Florida, a small town with a population of 13,337. It is best known for its spring water.

The winner is rumored to be a 26-year-old woman.

Meanwhile, there's another 26-year old who just hit the jackpot too. David Karp, has just sold his popular blogging site, Tumblr, to Yahoo for a jaw-dropping $1.1 billion.

This front-page headline of the New York Post playfully asks, “Who's This Yahoo?”

David Karp's billion dollar idea was born right in his mother's apartment on Manhattan’s Upper West Side. The year was 2007 and David’s future wasn't exactly looking bright. He'd dropped out of high school after just one year and had no intention of going back or attending college. Instead, he hung around the house tinkering around with a little concept called Tumblr.

So, the timing was just right for David Karp, and all wrong for a unlucky California woman.

Margit Arrobio of Pasadena says she chose the winning numbers for the record-setting Powerball jackpot last Wednesday when its value was $363.9 million.

She said, "So for 20 minutes, I thought, 'That was it.'"

She says her late parents guided her to the numbers, "I actually was channeling my mom and dad and said, 'Okay mom and dad, please help me choose the right numbers.'"

But it turns out she bought her lottery ticket an hour after Wednesday’s deadline, so she got nothing, and the jackpot grew to the whopping $590.5 million prize still waiting to be claimed.

She said, "What can I do? I always like to try and think positive."
