Darlene Flynn’s eerie prediction has come true. She once stated, "I'll be surrounded by shoes when I die!"
Her obsession with collecting shoes landed her a place in the Guinness Book of World Records for the "World's Biggest Shoe Collection."
She was also featured on the TLC series, My Collection Obsession.
Her home was filled with a mind-boggling 15,000 shoe related items. She spent hundreds of thousands of dollars buying them.
She said, "There is quite a few things I have sacrificed for my collection. I don't go regularly to get my nails done. I don't get my hair done."
All those shoes caused tension with her boyfriend, 29-year-old Justin Smith.
In one episode, her boyfriend said, “Darlene and I sometimes argue about her shoes. Sometimes I think she gets too many shoes."
Neighbors say the couple had a volatile relationship. One neighbor said, "About every six months they have a knock-down drag out, and he would go high-tailing it out of here."
After an especially terrible screaming match earlier this week, cops were called to Flynn’s home in Riverside, California. Police say they found Flynn slain in her backyard pool, and they saw her boyfriend running from the backyard without his shirt on.
He was arrested on suspicion of murder. Now, all that's left is an eerily quiet home filled with shoes, and these prophetic words, “I'll be surrounded by shoes when I die!"
