For the parents of one very sick boy, time is getting scarce, so they rushed their wedding to make sure he could be there as his father’s best man. INSIDE EDITION has the story.
At most weddings the bride and groom are the center of attention, but one wedding was a little different.
A drowsy two-year-old boy was the center of attention. Little Logan Stevenson, the beloved son of the bride and groom, is too young to realize he was the best man at the wedding, and too young to know he probably has just a few weeks to live.
Logan is suffering from leukemia and a rare disease called Fanconi Anemia. He's undergone a stem cell treatment, but now, doctors are saying there is nothing more they can do.
But the boy's parents, Sean Stevenson and Christine Swidorski, knew there was something they could do for their dying son.
With the help of family and friends, they rushed to get married in their back yard in Jeannette, Pennsylvania, a Pittsburgh suburb and they made Logan the best man. Logan was looking adorable in a tan pinstripe suit and seemed to realize something special was happening on this bittersweet day, one his parents will always remember.
Sean said, "It means the world to me. We're just blessed every day that he's with us."
Christine said, "It meant a lot to us. This is our dream come true. Celebrating my son's life and our marriage."
The family has set up a fund to help pay for Logan's medical bills. If you'd like to help, you can donate at any First Commonwealth Bank Branch. The fund is named Carnival for Cancer in care of Logan Stevenson.
