George Zimmerman Briefly In Custody After Alleged Domestic Incident With Wife

INSIDE EDITION reports on news that George Zimmerman is in police custody after a domestic dispute with his estranged wife in which he allegedly used a gun to threaten her.

George Zimmerman was briefly in police custody after wielding a gun in a "domestic incident" involving his soon-to-be-ex wife, according to police.

It happened at his in-laws' house in Lake Mary, Florida, just seven miles from where he shot Trayvon Martin. A jury found him not guilty of murdering the teenager in July.

Zimmerman can reportedly be seen soon after the incident in a video, wearing a plaid shirt and jeans and talking to a police officer.

Shellie Zimmerman did not have any signficant injuries, according to police.

But her attorney told ABC News that Zimmerman pulled a knife on her after she discovered a gun in the house they shared. He then allegedly used a gun to threaten Shellie and her father during a shouting match.

No arrest has been made, and Zimmerman is no longer in custody.

Shellie spoke out about her decision to divorce Zimmerman on Good Morning America. Divorce papers obtained by INSIDE EDITION say "the marriage...is irretrievably broken."

Last week, Zimmerman was charged with speeding—the second time cops have pulled him over since he was released from jail over the summer.

A troubling time for a controversial figure in America.
