Joe McGinniss vs. Sarah Palin
The guy Sarah Palin doesn't want as her next-door neighbor is fighting back, with a vengeance!
Best-selling author Joe McGinniss claims Palin is using Nazi-style tactics to incite people against him.
"She has pushed a button and unleashed the hounds of hell, and now they're out there slavering and barking and growling. That's the same kind of tactic, and I'm not calling her a Nazi, but that's the same kind of tactic that the Nazi troopers used in Germany in the '30's and I don't think there's any place for it in America," McGinniss told the Today show.
Now Palin is firing back, posting on her Facebook page, "Let my kids have a fun summer without having a 'journalist' 15 ft from their play area. How that equates me with the Nazis is quite beyond me."
McGinniss also said he sees nothing creepy about moving in next door to Palin while he's researching an unauthorized book about her.
He claims the only reason he rented a house just 15 feet from Palin's lakefront home in Wasilla, Alaska, was because it was such a good deal.
He told Matt Lauer, "I would be living in this house if the Palins lived on the moon; $1,500 a month for a house in Wasilla. I need to be in Wasilla to do my work."
McGinniss is upset about Palin posting a photo of him on his new deck and writing on her Facebook page:
"Wonder what kind of material he'll gather while overlooking Piper's bedroom, my little garden, and the family's swimming hole?"
"Sarah, hysterically, puts up this Facebook page with all sorts of ugly innuendo, which, frankly, is revolting, the things she has caused people to say about me," McGinniss said.
According to McGinniss, that 14-foot fence Palin put up after he moved in isn't how he would have greeted a new neighbor. He said "I would go over and shake hands and maybe give her a plate of cookies and say, 'Welcome to the neighborhood.' "
McGinniss plans to live in the house next to the Palins for the whole summer.
