"I'm a little banged up, but I'm lucky to be alive," Rebecca Storm said.
In the wink of an eye, she went from financial analyst to movie stunt woman, diving out of her car seconds before it slammed into an overpass wall at high speed!
"If I had been in it, there's no way I would have survived," Storm said.
It happened as Storm was driving on a highway in Nashua, New Hampshire. She says her car started accelerating out of control!
"I couldn't slow down. I put two feet on the brake, I pulled the emergency brake, I put my hazards on, I began honking the horn, and I called 911."
911: "What is your emergency?"
Caller: "My car won't stop. I need help!"
Storm saw just one way out of the crisis. "My best option at that time was to aim for a large pole and roll out before it hit."
She managed to slow the car to 50 miles per hour, took a deep breath, and jumped out of the driver's side door, onto the rock-hard road!
"I don't recall how many times I tumbled, you just cover your face and roll with the momentum."
Storm suffered scrapes and bruises, and a few chipped teeth, but miraculously those were the extent of her injuries!
Her car missed the pole, it hopped the curb and rolled several hundred yards before bashing into an overpass wall. Nobody else was hurt.
"I'm just really thankful to be alive," Storm said.
