Girl Hands Michelle Obama Resume of Unemployed Dad

Charlotte Bell went all the way to the top to help her dad find a job, giving his resume to Michelle Obama at a White House visit. INSIDE EDITION has the story.

She's the little girl who wowed the nation with her gutsy attempt to get her dad a job, from the first lady.

The girl said, "My dad's been out of a job for three years and I wanted to give you his resume."

An astonished Michelle accepted the resume and gave courageous Charlotte Bell a big hug.

"Oh, my goodness," said the first lady.

And now, we're learning about Charlotte's dad. His name is Benjamin Bell. He lives in Bethesda, Maryland. He worked for one year as Director of Government Affairs for the National Association of Wheat Growers. Before that, he spent five years as a Senior Legislative Assistant to a Congressman. He holds a Bachelors Degree from Louisiana State University.

Michelle quickly gained her compusure as she clutched the dad's resume. Michelle said, "Well, it's a little private, but she's doing something for her dad. Right? Got it!"

This isn't the first time someone boldly approached the first family looking for a job.

Two years ago, Jennifer Wedel of Fort Worth, Texas, expressed her frustration on behalf of her husband to President Obama during a Google-sponsored Town Hall meeting.

Wedel told the president, "My husband has an engineering degree. He was laid off three years ago and is yet to find a permanent job in his field."

The president heeded her cry for help, saying, "If you send me your husband's resume, I'd be interested in finding out exactly what's happening right there."

We're happy to report that eventually Darin Wedel got a job. Now, we'll see if this 10-year-old girl's brave and bold move on behalf of her dad will help him get a job.
