In Your Face Defiance: Nurse Kaci Hickox Stops Ebola Quarantine For Bike Ride

Catch me if you can!

Ebola nurse Kaci Hickox defies quarantine and goes for a bike ride with her boyfriend.

Thirty-three-year-old Hickox, who was told by the state of Maine to remain indoors for 21 days, caused an uproar today as she left her home.

She was followed by state troopers but they made no effort to stop her. She returned after an hour. It was an act of defiance and provocation.

When she returned from her ride, Hickox told reporters, "Thank you guys. I have to go speak to the Health Department now."

Last night, she stepped out of her house and challenged reporters to give her a hug and shake her hand, saying, "You can hug me. You can shake my hand. There is no way that I will give you Ebola."

Nurse Kaci is facing a firestorm of criticism. A CBS poll says 80% of Americans believe Kaci Hickox and everyone else returning to the U.S. from West Africa should be quarantined.
