Apple Gives Mea Culpa at Press Conference

Apple's CEO Steve Jobs finally addressed complaints from customers that the new iPhone 4 can lose signal if held in a certain way. INSIDE EDITION has the details from today's press conference.

Unless you hold the new iPhone 4 just right, some users report that it's possible to lose the signal.

When even Whoopi Goldberg starts complaining about her iPhone 4, Apple has a problem. And the new iPhone's problems have become so notorious the phone has even become the butt of jokes for late night comedians like Jay Leno and David Letterman.

Now, Apple CEO Steve Jobs has finally spoken out about the so-called "death grip" flaw.

"We're not perfect. We know that, you know that," he told a room full of reporters at the July 16th press conference.

He announced Apple will provide free cases until September 30th to fix the problem.

In the meantime, desperate iPhone 4 users have come up with their own do-it-yourself remedies to fix the problem.

Remedy One: Stretch a rubber bracelet around the edge.

Remedy Two: Use clear nail polish and paint it on the phone's edges.

Remedy Three: Place a little bit of duct tape on the bottom left-hand corner where the internal antenna is located...although it's unsightly on what's supposed to be a slick smartphone.

And if you need anymore proof of how much the iPhone has become a part of American pop culture, it has been reported that Oksana Grigorieva used an iPhone to record those explosive Mel Gibson rants.
