Man Whose Mugshot Went Viral for His Unusually Thick Neck Is Arrested Again

Charles Dion McDowell's mugshot from last week was shared on Facebook more than 265,000 times.

A man whose mugshot attracted attention online for his incredibly thick neck has been arrested again, this time in Alabama. 

Charles Dion McDowell, 31, was taken into custody Wednesday after police had to use spikes to stop his car as he fled from cops on Interstate 85, according to the Auburn Plainsman.

He was charged with multiple counts, including second-degree marijuana possessions and driving with a revoked license, and booked into the Lee County Detention Center, records show. McDowell posted bail and was released later on Wednesday.

McDowell first went viral last week after he was arrested in Florida by the Escambia County Sheriff's Office on a host of charges. His mugshot from then was posted on Facebook, prompting a flurry of neck-related puns. 

"Dude puts his turtle neck sweaters on upside down," one person posted. 

"Did anyone notify his neck-s-ta-kin...?" asked another. 

"Can everyone keep me posted on his necks court date?" added a third. 

The original mugshot has been shared on Facebook more than 256,000 times. 

Information on whether he entered a plea to any of the charges he faces could not be found.
