Swimmers Honor Sick Teammate With Sea of Red Umbrellas

February 19, 2018

Grace Bunke is an inspiration to her teammates. The 14-year-old champion swimmer has a terminal case of bone cancer. Grace qualified for the state swim meet at Georgia Tech this weekend, but she was too ill to attend. Olympic swimmers offered their good wishes in a tape that was played at the meet, but sadly, Grace was too sick to leave her house. Olympic silver medal swimmer Amanda Weir swam in Grace's place. Her friends also paid tribute to her with a sea of umbrellas.
