Meghan and Harry Launch Their Own Instagram Account: See the Photos

The royal couple previously shared an account with Prince William and Kate Middleton.

Meghan Markle is back on Instagram!

The Duchess of Sussex and her husband, Prince Harry, released the first images on their new Instagram account Tuesday.

“Welcome to our official Instagram," their first post reads. "We look forward to sharing the work that drives us, the causes we support, important announcements, and the opportunity to shine a light on key issues. We thank you for your support, and welcome you to @sussexroyal."

The post included a gallery of images of the royals traveling and greeting fans.

Meghan previously had her own public Instagram account — where she shared inspirational quotes and photos of her adventures — but it was shut down in January 2018, shortly after she announced her engagement to the British royal.

Photos of Meghan and Harry were then shared on another official Instagram account, @KensingtonRoyal, but on Tuesday, it announced it would be focusing on the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, Prince William and Kate Middleton.

The new, separate account comes just two weeks after Kensington Palace announced that Harry and Meghan would be getting their own royal household, separate from that of William and Kate.

"This long-planned move will ensure that permanent support arrangements for the Duke and Duchess's work are in place as they start their family and move to their official residence at Frogmore Cottage," the Palace said in its announcement.

Meghan and Harry are expected to welcome their first child this month.

Their post Tuesday comes a few weeks after the Queen also published her first-ever Instagram post.
