A luxury penthouse in the heart of New York City just sold for $238 million, making the four-floor home the most expensive in the U.S.

The most expensive home in America has just been sold for $238 million in New York City

The apartment is inside 220 Central Park South, a 24,000-square-foot building that rises 1,000 feet over Manhattan.

Like many high-rise buildings in New York, it features a pool, fitness center, doorman and juice bar. A parking spot goes for $750,000 and a wine cellar will cost an extra $111,000.

The building is still under construction and has scaffolding and other material outside.

Kenneth Griffin, a hedge fund billionaire based in Chicago, bought the condo, which boasts floor-to-ceiling windows with unobstructed views of Central Park. The apartment starts on the 50th floor and goes up to the 53rd.

A report says Sting and his wife, Trudie Styler, have also bought an apartment in the building.

Griffin’s condo still isn’t the most expensive home in the world. A Hong Kong home sold for $361 million, according to The Wall Street Journal
