"Thank you so much for coming!" says an enthusiastic Jenny McCarthy.
Jenny McCarthy and Jim Carrey are very passionate about their very personal mission.
The celebrity couple is leading a march on Washington D.C. with more than 8,000 people taking part, all asking the government to take a closer look at the way children are vaccinated in this country.
Jenny's five-year-old son Evan is autistic, and the actress believes childhood vaccinations are to blame.
"The toxins need to be removed from the vaccines and there's too many on the schedule. That's our point today," says McCarthy.
Jenny and her boyfriend of two-and-a-half years arrived hand-in-hand with Evan and Jim's grown daughter, Jane. Their supporters chanted against what they say is the over-vaccination of children.
Jenny says Evan is successfully battling the disease, thanks to a controversial wheat-and dairy-free diet.
"Once I kind of removed [dairy and wheat] from Evan's diet, he was focused and his speech doubled," McCarthy told INSIDE EDITION.
Even with doctors expressing skepticism, Jenny stands by the treatment plan and the issues she's raising about vaccinations, alongside the man she calls the "Autism Whisperer," because his animated personality breaks through her little boy's shell.
"It's what love does for you," says Jim.
