Kate Gives Teary Interview, Jon Apologizes From a Synagogue
Airdate: 11/2/2009
Kate Gosselin was caught speeding. Fortunately the kids were not on board! The mother of eight was driving her SUV 70 miles per hour, 15 miles over the speed limit, according to Pennsylvania State Police.
Kate was issued a citation and paid the $109.50 fine.
"I'm awake in the middle of the night thinking, am I making the best decisions?" a tearful Kate said during a new interview, airing on November 2 on TLC.
Kate broke down in tears while talking about her divorce. And she accused her husband Jon of leaking what she says is the false rumor that she was having an affair with her bodyguard.
"You look around and very close trusted people who you would swear on your life would never, ever, ever cash you in, for lack of better words, and those people do that..." Kate said.
And there was more bad news for Kate. A nanny who appeared on her TLC show has died. Janet Weidenheimer died of undisclosed causes at the age of 72. The kids called her "Nana Janet" and even talked about how much they loved her on the show.
Meanwhile Jon is expressing remorse for the way he treated Kate. He told reporters, "I do apologize to Kate and I'm sorry for doing the things that I did. And I do ask for her forgiveness."
Jon publicly apologized to Kate Sunday night at a New York City synagogue. He walked in to a crush of waiting photographers; Jon was nearly a half an hour late to his own atonement!
Once inside, Jon sat next to Rabbi Shmuley Boteach, who served as Michael Jackson's spiritual advisor and is now counseling Jon.
"I'll apologize to her for openly having relationships in the public eye and that was a huge mistake," he said.
Jon also expressed remorse for flaunting his relationship with girlfriend Hailey Glassman so soon after his split with Kate, and he admitted to emotionally abusing both Hailey and Kate.
"For 10 years I kept it all in and I emotionally abused people because it all of a sudden just came out one day," Jon told reporters.
He also dispelled reports that he has split from Glassman. "We've decided to just, not take a break, but just slow things down."
