"Are you a gold-digger?" asks INSIDE EDITION's Megan Alexander. "No. It was never about the money, ever," avers Cristal Taylor. Taylor used to have it all. She lived in a mansion and was engaged to one of the country's most eligible bachelors. But Taylor spoke exclusively to INSIDE EDITION from prison. "Did you love him?" asked Megan Alexander. "Very much so," she said. Her former fiancé is Dirk Nowitzki, an electrifying all-star forward for the Dallas Mavericks who earns $16 million a year. What Nowitzki didn't know was that his fiancée was a fugitive from justice. Investigators showed up at the NBA superstar's mansion and Taylor was placed under arrest. She was led away in handcuffs and ended up at a maximum security women's prison. It's clear that life in prison took a toll on Taylor, who appeared tired and emotional during INSIDE EDITION's interview. She said she and the NBA star were planning to get married at his mansion: "I had already picked out my wedding dress, and the shoes, and everything." But the wedding was called off following her arrest in May 2009. There were also reports that Taylor was faking a pregnancy to get Nowitzki to marry her. But Taylor said the pregnancy was no hoax. "Did he know you were pregnant?" asked Megan Alexander. "Yes." "What happened?" "I started getting really, really stressed out and then I lost it," Taylor said. Taylor is serving a four-year prison sentence for forgery and stealing, and she has a message for the basketball star: "I love him very, very much and I wish he would have stood by my side." Dirk Nowitzki's lawyer told INSIDE EDITION that a court-ordered pregnancy test determined that Ms. Taylor was not expecting a baby, adding that her personal and legal problems are well known.
